On December 11, 2014, the MUSE Exhibition opened with a reception for students, family, teachers and guests on Newport Gallery Night. This was the night for students from three participating high schools, Rogers High, Portsmouth High and East Bay Met, to enjoy the exhibition at Newport Art Museum that they co-curated.

While all the students were co-curators, contributing one piece each to the show, they only see the works from their own school while in the preparatory stage. Once installation begins, they start to see the combination of works that have come together from all three schools and on opening night, the final impression of their accomplishment.

Students may submit their own work, or secure a loan of art work from an alumnus of their school. The processes of filing loan forms, framing and presentation, hanging or presenting sculptural work on pedestals all give the students real life experience for college and career.
